Before embarking on a DIY home renovation project you may be thinking of building up a toolbox if you don’t already have one. This is a short post for those that are new to DIY or don’t really know what the essential tools are to buy. These are the tools that we found are most often used:
- Screwdriver set
- Hammer
- Pliers
- Tape measure
- Spirit level
- Electric drill with different drill bits for wood, metal, masonry
- Handsaw
- Screws and appropriate wall plugs
- Utility knife
- Masking tape
- Adjustable spanner
- Safety goggles

If you want a shortcut, you can also buy an all inclusive tool kit that will contain most of the above mentioned tools.
Inevitably you may need to buy a specific tool for a certain project but one or many of the above listed tools will definitely be used. Happy DIY-ing!
Are there any other essential tools that you think are a must-have in your toolbox? Please feel free to share with me in the comments.
PS. As a tribute to Prince the title of this post is sourced from his song “Screwdriver”
Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between user
friendliness and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a fantastic job with
this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Chrome.
Exceptional Blog!
