There are many wonderful things to see and do in London. But sometimes one tends to get stuck in the routine of life and you can forget what an amazing city London is. Over 2 years ago I bought an Amazon Local deal for a London street art walking tour. It was during this time that we were sucked into the depths of DIY home renovations. So this was a great deal that forced my hubby and I to check out the street art of East London on a Sunday morning. Here is a collage of some of the art we saw:
You can find lots of street art around Aldgate East, Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Spitalfields. You don’t have to use a walking tour company unless you’re interested in hearing more about the history behind some of the well known street artists. You can also check Google for walking tour maps/routes that other people have written about. I found these 2:

We really enjoyed the street art tour. The tour guide also knew a lot about some of the artists we saw which was interesting to hear. It was definitely worth getting up on a Sunday morning for. Hopefully this will now also inspire you to be a tourist in your own city 🙂
“Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner
That I love London so
Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner
That I think of her wherever I go
I get a funny feeling inside of me
Just walking up and down
Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner
That I love London town.” – Hubert Gregg
PS. Coincidentally this week’s theme on The Blog Tag is Art so I’d like to share this post which suits the topic of “My encounter with art”. Please click on the link if you’d like to join in on the fun:

Hi Shelley, thanks for reading! 🙂
Thanks for this article. I love street art and am very tempted to paint my wall for passerbys – if only my hubby would agree 😛
