Another year has come and gone for the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Yet I still haven’t visited this prestigious flower show. (I’ll admit, it is the crowds that puts me off… maybe… maybe next year!) However, I did manage to get to this years Chelsea in Bloom festival which is an annual free festival held at the same time. Retailers in the Chelsea area transform their shops into horticultural havens. The participating shops are then entered into a competition for their interpretation of the current theme and awards are given for the best displays.
You may know by now that I enjoy taking photos of flowers. So after visiting last year’s Chelsea in Bloom festival I made a mental note about going again this year. I thought going early one morning before work would be a good idea. Apparently many others had the same idea too! 🙂 The theme for this years floral art show was floral safari. When I first discovered this years theme I was very excited to find out what would be on display. So if you missed this years show indulge your floral senses with my photos of these wonderful, colourful and artistic displays. Have a look to see if you can identify what the animals are too 🙂

Hopefully you enjoyed looking at my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. I was amazed at the skillfulness of the many displays and how the designers were able to create such realistic looking animals from flowers and plants.
If you’re keen to check out next year’s Chelsea in Bloom festival then remember to take note that it’s on at the same time as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. It’s free and it definitely provided an entertaining hour walk around Sloane Square for me 🙂
Fantastic works of art

I agree! 🙂
so cool!
For years I wanted to go to the Chelsea Flower Show but I didn’t manage to make it this year either. The Chelsea in Bloom Festival is such a great alternative. So nice to be able to see all these gorgeous flower arrangements through your lens 🙂
